Therapy

"We think we know what is meaningful, we don’t unless we ask" Irvine Yalom
Ready for a different conversation?
Most people, just like you, consider therapy because they are seeking relief or desire change.
But often, the real challenge isn’t in the desire for change – it’s about whether we are ready to embrace the uncertainties that come with it. Real change involves risk. It calls us to venture into the unexplored territories of our emotions and our experiences.

I get that we find comfort in our personal and familiar stories. They provide a sense of safety, a buffer against the unknown, helping us make sense of our past and present experiences.  The challenge is these stories can keep us stuck, repeating patterns of thinking, behaviour and relating that no longer serve us. These patterns and stories are born in the space between us - where we are shaped and formed.  So how do we experience relief and meaningful change?

Let's go Beyond the Story

To truly change, we need to go beyond the story and uncover the raw, often unspoken truths of our lives.

Deep within our emotional landscapes, we discover how we crafted these stories, how we use our instinctual survival states of fight, flight or freeze to stay safe – even if it looks odd, strange or peculiar to ourselves and the people around us – and we uncover where and how we learnt to relate. It is here that real change becomes possible. This understanding and shift in experience allows us to see and experience ourselves and our relationships—with partners, family, friends, and colleagues— in a new way. So when we go beyond our stories, we open the door to growth, connection, healing, and moving forward in a more fulfilling and meaningful way.
